Khaleesi depicts the Mother of Dragons herself. We were tasked with creating an artwork and to not focus on the details – this was a struggle for me as the whole allure of my art is its attention to detail.
I found myself slipping back into the details and becoming frustrated many times when trying to accurately draw Emelia Clarke’s character, however, I kept reminding myself to not get hung up on the details and found that I was moving on very swiftly to the next portion of the artwork.
The fact that my reference image was so pixelated - and offered no detail for me to copy – was a blessing and a curse. It made me much more frustrated but it also served as a reminder to enjoy the art process and enjoy my artistic license to depict the Mother of Dragons however I wished to.
This in itself was a relief and I found that I enjoyed creating this artwork quite a bit more with each time I repeated that mantra; don’t get hung up on the details; reconnecting with the artistic side of creating an artwork, rather than obeying the logical and detail-oriented Virgo side of myself.
With more practice, I aim to overcome this struggle to let go and enjoy the art process and know I will be able to create artworks within a half hour that focus primarily on broad brushstrokes and alluding to who the figure is, rather than recreating the person down to every eyelash and skin pore.

Looks so life like! You can only get better from here, Well done!
Great piece. I love your use of highlights and the skin texturing on the shadows. Awesome!
nice shading. cool to see your process.
I know what you mean about getting hung up on details, I have the same issues. I feel like knowing which details to omit is an artform in itself.
